The corner to corner technique can be used to make huge blankets or smaller squares. It can be made as large or as small as you like, rectangular or square, and, using a chart to guide you, can create pictures or even text in your work. In this class, we will practice the technique, learn how to read patterns, and interpret charts by making a simple shape motif of our choice.

Learn the noble art of crochet The Birmingham Crochet Club organises crochet classes run by Professional Crochet Instructors for beginners, all the way up to experienced crocheters.

Time Saturday 10am - 1pm
Location Coffee#1 Cafe, Edmund House, Birmingham
Cost: £35 per person / per class

Beginners Class: This class is designed for those who have had little to no experience with a crochet hook. You will learn the crochet basics and terminology and we'll get you started on your very own granny square.

Other Classes: Perfect for those who've already done our popular Beginners Class!
Choose from:
- Corner to Corner Class (C2C)
- Crochet Stitches Class
- Amigurumi 101 Class


All our classes include crochet materials and instruction.
Students will also receive a non-alcoholic drink during the class.
If our class is more than 8 students (max 10) we will provide extra time at the end of the class



Everyone with an interest in crochet (whether you have been to a class or not) are also welcome to join our Facebook Group where you can share your crochet projects, find inspiration, make friends, and also just have a good yarn.

Excellent instruction a calm and friendly tutor, as the classes are small plenty of time to go around individuals. Venue was pleasant, would definitely do another class in the future.

A very useful and informative session. A range of abilities of attendees can be difficult to manage but I think that everyone got good attention and tuition. Fully satisfied my requirements to learn more. The environment was very good for our group.

I really enjoyed the class. Alicia is a good teacher and it was lovely to interact with others interested in learning to crochet. I am looking forward to the next class after I have had chance to practice at home. Appreciated the free drink too as it was welcome relief after our intense concentration 😄

Alicia Taplin-Mudford
Alicia was taught crochet as an adult by her mother and has been exploring the seemingly endless possibilities of the hook ever since. Her expertise covers a wide range of techniques including amigurumi, intarsia, tapestry, overlay and mosaic crochet. She loves to explore how colour choices can affect the success of a finished piece. Alicia has also dabbled in a variety of crafty activities like stained glass, leatherworking, wood carving, hand dyeing and weaving, to name a few, but most often returns to the comforting rhythm of crochet.
